Hornets softball shut out by Cal

The bats of Sacramento State softball were silent as it was issued a NCAA mercy-rule in six innings by UC Berkeley on Wednesday in Berkeley, Calif. Cal’s freshman pitcher Stephanie Trzcinski held the Hornets to only four hits, two walks and had 11 strikeouts in the 8-0 win.
