Happy opening day for this year’s State Fair!
Art, agriculture and stuffed poodles captivated the crowds at 1967’s State Fair. This was the fair’s last year on Stockton Blvd prior to the move to Cal Expo!
"Come to State Fair, it’s all right there…" is how the jingle went! This photo shows the Cal Expo site during construction in the late 1960s. While there is a pavilion full of magic mops and miracle knives where these cars are parked, those Brutalist buildings are still just as striking now!
