Kim

Kimberly Michelle is a 30-something mother/wife/girl that yearns for making everything extraordinary. If she were a super-person, she'd want to be a combination of Kate Spade, John Wooden, Martha Stewart, Walt Disney and Wolfgang Puck. She'd have her own theme park with a wood-burning oven where everyone played basketball AND enjoyed craft time and would look like a modern day Jackie O every day of the week. On this blog, she shares the exploits of her immediate family: Mr. M (my amazing husband), Miss L (also known as Baby M through year 1), and Memphis (our boston terrier) and Lincoln (the Bernese Mountain Dog). She bleeds blue and gold for her UCLA Bruins, and really only celebrate 3 seasons: football, basketball and “no football/basketball.

Garth Brooks is Coming! Quick… TURN AROUND!

“Just the other night, at a Sacramento music gig, I witnessed concert goer behavior, befitting of a pig…” Last Wednesday night, on April Fool’s Day of course, I found myself seated on the floor in the third row of a Garth Brooks concert. This wasn’t my first rodeo with Garth… that actually happened at...

Lazy grilled fish tacos

Sunday afternoon. “Miss L… what do you want for dinner?” “Fish tacos!” Alrighty then… I think we can do that! I looked in the fridge and spotted some taco sauce and cilantro. Then I headed to the store and bought the following: finely shredded cole slaw, prepared pico de gallo, 1 lime, Mexican sour...

#Disneyside birthday preschool playdate

Last year we threw Miss L a pretty epic “Rainbow Dash” 4th birthday party. This year, we were a bit indecisive on plans, which meant that all of the local venues were booked up by January, so we decided to downsize any big plans and went for a simpler plan instead. Miss L had...

Wine Wednesday: Vinotype

What’s your Vinotype?   According to this survey I’m “hypersensitive.”   That means… my wine preferences run toward more delicate, dry wines with lower alcohol levels and reds have to be especially rich and smooth for my highly sensitive sensory perception. I’m towards the top end of the scale in terms of my sensory sensitivity....

Can you stay 4 forever?

One day… probably around April, 2014, I started making a simple request of Miss L on occasions that she did something amazingly adorable (which, to a mom, is almost everything all the time, so realize that I did limit myself). I found myself saying it time and time again, and over the year I...
