Kim

Kimberly Michelle is a 30-something mother/wife/girl that yearns for making everything extraordinary. If she were a super-person, she'd want to be a combination of Kate Spade, John Wooden, Martha Stewart, Walt Disney and Wolfgang Puck. She'd have her own theme park with a wood-burning oven where everyone played basketball AND enjoyed craft time and would look like a modern day Jackie O every day of the week. On this blog, she shares the exploits of her immediate family: Mr. M (my amazing husband), Miss L (also known as Baby M through year 1), and Memphis (our boston terrier) and Lincoln (the Bernese Mountain Dog). She bleeds blue and gold for her UCLA Bruins, and really only celebrate 3 seasons: football, basketball and “no football/basketball.

the force was with us at the #rundisney #starwarshalf

The M Family travelled down to Orange County this weekend to partake in the inaugural runDisney Star Wars Half Marathon weekend. Miss L was the first to race with her events on Saturday morning! It was her 4th runDisney kid’s race, but her first 200m event since she finally aged out of the 100m...

The M Family Portrait

We haven’t had any family photo sessions. That’s pretty scandalous for a blogger to admit, but it’s true! Instead we just have all our snapshots and dSLR photos and wedding photos on the walls. I decided that I’d change that this year, but instead of opting for just another photograph, I decided to do...

scenes from the 2015 alamo bowl

January 2, 2015. The day my mom and I returned to Texas for yet another UCLA Football game. This time for a bowl game. It might not have been the national championship team that we all hoped for in August (go Oregon – #BackthePAC), it definitely became a team that we all loved a...

SIMPLIFYING LIFE WITH TECHNOLOGY ONE DAY AT A TIME

When we were flying back from Texas last weekend, my mom and I made a long stopover in Vegas for dinner (and a cheaper airfare) and immediately regretted not staying in town for a day or two. In the baggage claim there was a registration line for CES badges, our cab driver talked about...

Here’s a list of wonderful things I wanted to share with you this month: The Gruffalo & The Gruffalo’s Child on Netflix The Gruffalo is one of our favorite books in the house (we discovered after David Beckham’s recommendation of “The Spiffiest Giant in Town” on Sesame Street and looked for more books by...

life lessons from an NBA game: part 1

Dec 22, 2014

If you follow me on Instagram, it’s not much of a secret that we have NBA season tickets for the Sacramento Kings. It’s a promise we made to the team when their stay in town was in question, and a commitment that’s actually been quite fun to keep! We only have 2 tickets however,...

tasty goodness: TALENTI gelato

Talenti gelato (flavor featured here: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup) I’ve been known to stay away from the ice cream/frozen treats section of the grocery store in recent years due to utter disappointment. I’ve somehow moved beyond the days of craving a crazy Ben & Jerry’s concoction to devour at 11pm (or 3am?) and the...

2-in-1 holiday shopping

We’re in the middle of the holiday shopping season, which means chaos and confusion for most of us. Well, maybe it’s just me. Because no matter how much shopping I get done before December 1st, I always manage to procrastinate about something crucially important. But I’ve vowed to do something about it this year…...

tasty goodness: mojitea by argo tea

mojitea by Argo Tea Long gone are the days of Snapple Iced Tea looking delicious and appealing  at the market, especially when you have people willing to taste and experiment with something other than black tea. The Argo Tea bottle drew me in right away, as did the name of this variety: mojitea.  Mojito...
