Kim

Kimberly Michelle is a 30-something mother/wife/girl that yearns for making everything extraordinary. If she were a super-person, she'd want to be a combination of Kate Spade, John Wooden, Martha Stewart, Walt Disney and Wolfgang Puck. She'd have her own theme park with a wood-burning oven where everyone played basketball AND enjoyed craft time and would look like a modern day Jackie O every day of the week. On this blog, she shares the exploits of her immediate family: Mr. M (my amazing husband), Miss L (also known as Baby M through year 1), and Memphis (our boston terrier) and Lincoln (the Bernese Mountain Dog). She bleeds blue and gold for her UCLA Bruins, and really only celebrate 3 seasons: football, basketball and “no football/basketball.

zootopia coloring pages fun!

Zootopia comes out on March 4th, 2016, but from the excitement exhibited by Miss L, you’d think it’s coming out tomorrow. I downloaded these Zootopia Coloring Book pages for her tonight and she immediately went to town coloring Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. She laughed hysterically at all of the clips we saw at...

there’s more to a migraine

I created this post as part of a campaign by Teva Pharmaceuticals. I received an American Express gift card for participating. If you’ve ever had a migraine, you know how that it’s not just a “really bad headache.” A bad headache can be alleviated by eating or rehydrating or just waiting it out. A...

Our Super Bowl 50 NFL Experience

Next Sunday, the Broncos and the Panthers will play in Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara. So this past Saturday, our family headed down to San Jones to revel in a bit of the frenzy before the big game.    In anticipation of the madness, I purchased tickets for the NFL Experience way back...

Leveling your library at home

Now that Miss L is officially a voracious reader, I wanted to make her library a bit more reader friendly. Back when I was teaching middle school, I knew that one of the biggest hurdles my students had to becoming successful readers was finding the right level books for their reading level. It’s...

how to recycle your Christmas cards into something more

I just packed up all of this years Christmas/Holiday cards from the front entry and put them in a pile. Soon, they’ll make their way to Target, where I’ll quickly scan them all and digitally plop them into a photo book for the year. And while that’s a great keepsake that we have, it...

we’re excited for NORM OF THE NORTH

This post was sponsored by Lionsgate as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. “Momma! When do we get to go see the Polar Bear movie??? The one where he goes on an adventure and saves the world?” I always find it amazing how kids pick up on movie themes so quickly. Miss...

resolutions for 2016

Jan 6, 2016

In looking forward at 2016, I’m not looking for anything super different. Just more of the little things. And for the start of the year, I’m just going to put two things out there: Move more. I found myself sitting a lot this year. A new job in April had me seated behind...
