Jana Saastad Jana Saastad, Managing Editor, a Rocklin resident, recently served as the communications director to California Senator George Runner; speechwriter and photographer to former Assembly Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy; and reporter and editor at the Lodi News-Sentinel. Saastad served in the US Navy Reserves as a photojournalist and received the Navy Achievement Medal for creating one of the first reserve unit websites when the “World Wide Web” was in its infancy.
